The Road Ahead
1
Building a Stronger Branson
The plan kicks off by developing a vision for the future. The community plan update is a collaborative effort, involving residents, businesses, and city officials, working together to build a brighter future for Branson. The first phase will develop teams of individuals to help develop the plan and begin collecting a baseline of data about the city.
2
Encouraging Innovation
Once a Comprehensive Planning Committee (CPC) is formed, the plan moves into the next phase of analysis. The plan will encourage innovative solutions and well-grounded practices to ensure Branson remains a vibrant and thriving community for generations to come based off a wide variety of data sources and in-depth analysis.
3
Embracing Quality Input
At the same time the city staff and the CPC start in-depth analysis of the functionality of the city, the public will have many opportunities to provide input through the Community Survey, Public Workshops, and Stakeholder Interviews.
UPDATE: The plan is currently in this phase.
4
Goal Development
After a direction has been established, a set of goals will need to be developed through many meetings with the Comprehensive Planning Committee, Planning & Zoning Commission, and Board of Aldermen. There will be even more opportunity for the public to stay engaged with the development of the plan.
5
Action Planning
After goals are developed and examined, the plan will culminate in an action plan that will guide city services and development over the next 10 to 15 years. The Action Plan will be the bedrock of the plan content, allowing the plan to begin be drafted. The public will have another opportunity to review draft sections of the plan to ensure the action plan is both forward-thinking, yet doable.
6
Adoption and Implementation
Once the plan is adopted, the city will adopt the plan and allow action to begin. Once the Plan is adopted, the implementation phase will begin, allowing the plan to be integrated into the everyday functionality at the city.
